On the Shelf; Aug/Sept 2009

It has been a while since the last post. We've have both had a crazy summer and haven't made any time to blog. The problem with working at the library is we both check out more books than we could ever have time to read. So, once a month or so we've decided to have special blogs of "On the Shelf" to share all the interesting books we having on nightstands, in purses, on bookshelves, in baskets, et cetera.

SAHARA'S SHELF

The Princess and the Bear Harrison, Mette Ivie
I was excited to discover this sequel to Princess and the Hound. I picked up the first book because the hound on the cover looked like my mothers great dane, Matilda. It took me a couple months to finally read, but I loved it once I did.

Kiss & Blog Noël, Alyson
I just loved this title. Not sure if I'll actually find time to read this one.

Oh. My. Gods Childs, Tera Lynn
Another, totally cute title. Reminded me of a favorite from last summer, Gods Behaving Badly, which I highly recommend. (Disclaimer: As an ex-Latin club president, I have a thing for Greco-Roman mythology. My inner nerd gets very excited.)

The Diamond Secret Weyn, Suzanne
I liked the cover. I can't even remember what this one was supposed to be about.

A Kiss in Time Flinn, Alex
I love, love, loved Flinn's Beastly, which was a modern spin on the Beauty and the Beast story, told from the "Beast" perspective. I'm very excited to start Flinn's adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, A Kiss in Time.

Kiss & Hell Cassidy, Dakota
Dakota Cassidy writes witty, fun, yellow hating characters. I've loved all her previous paranormal romances and have high hopes for this one.

Another Faust Nayeri, Daniel and Dina

Adored (It Girl #8) Von Ziegesar,
Cecily

Mr. Darcy, Vampyre Grange, Amanda

Godmother Turgeon, Carolyn

Girl Stays in the Picture De La Cruz, Melissa

Once dead, twice shy Harrison, Kim

Peterfreund, Diana

Conrad, Lauren

Childs, Tera Lynn

On Audio Book:
The Awakening Armstrong, Kelley
From one of my favorite authors (who I had the privileged of seeing in person a few months ago), comes her second YA book. I have this one on audiobook and plan on listening to it with my boyfriend over labor day weekend since we are going to be in the car for several hours.

3 Willows: The Sisterhood Grows Brashares, Ann

Fragile Eternity Marr, Melissa

Non-Fiction:
A year in high heels : the girls guide to everything from Jane Austen to the A-list Morton, Camilla.

The sewing book Smith, Alison.

I must admit, I judge books by their covers.
Sahara

EXTRA: pending review...

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
Hollywood is like High School with Money by Zoey Dean
